I was back at L'Auberge Del Mar tonight for a great wedding. I projected the couple's names onto the waterfall for a dramatic outdoor space. Guests kept taking pictures with it so it served a few different purposes. We packed the ballroom with 150 guests, a band, and myself as the DJ. We kicked dancing off 10 minutes into the reception before dinner was served. They had many guests from the east coast so they are used to a little dancing before dinner. It worked out well and the floor was packed. I mostly played Motown and Oldies at this point to keep it friendly for all. After dinner the band played for an hour, we cut the cake, and then I finished off the evening playing more of the current music mixed in with a little funk, 80's, and 90's. They kept wanting more.
